Bike helmet recommended for balance bikes
The importance of a bike helmet for both children and adults cannot be overemphasized. Since there is no legal requirement in this area, we can only make a strong recommendation to wear a helmet, at least as soon as the child starts riding a balance bike. Unlike tricycles, a balance bike can achieve significantly higher speeds on straight stretches and down hills. Three tips from different test magazines about balance bikes
There are countless tests online that evaluate and test drive the different balance bikes on the market. The results vary, but basically, most tests can be boiled down to a few simple recommendations for anyone considering buying a balance bike for their child:
- A low weight provides lighter handling and better mobility for the child.
- Thehandlebars should not be too wide. A wide handlebar makes it difficult to turn and reduces the fun experience.
- Height adjustment is a huge plus. It's almost a given, but of course, height adjustment allows for a longer product lifespan and ensures a perfect experience for the child.
- Soft large tires provide a more comfortable ride for the child and also allow for better outdoor use

Rule of thumb for the right size balance bike
Your child should be able to easily put both feet on the ground while sitting in the saddle. The easiest way to do this is to measure your child's leg length and look for a bike with the same height. All the heights listed on the different balance bikes are minimum heights and more can be adjusted to fit longer legs. It's also okay if the child's legs are slightly bent, as this provides a longer contact surface for the feet and better cycling conditions for the child.
