Changing a cassette with bike tools

Your bike determines which tool to use. Depending on the number of gears, brand or size, you'll need to find the right tool. The puller used for a Shimano freewheel is often not the same puller for a Suntour or similar. The same applies to the choice of chain whip, pin wrench, etc. There are countless patterns, stripes and holes to look out for.

Replace your cassette or brake discs yourself

One of the first things you notice as a bike enthusiast is the wear and tear on components. Especially the entire transmission setup experiences enormous wear and tear over the course of a season. Therefore, the first "real" replacements on your bike will occur somewhere around the transmission(not counting brakes, tires and tubes) Chains get pulled longer and sprockets wear out on the side of the teeth. These are just a few things that can/will happen over the lifetime of a bike. One of the first and most essential tools a DIYer should acquire is for the gear and transmission area.

Pullers for all brands

We strive to clarify which pullers are suitable for Shimano, as well as which pullers are suitable for other brands such as Suntour, Atom, Falcon, etc. Of course, it's also possible to find tools for your BMX or FIXIE, popularly known as singlespeed bikes. Since the bikes only have one gear, gears and the like are usually of a different size.
