Powerful Bike Lights for Maximum Visibility
If you're cycling on dark country roads, it may be worth considering a more powerful light. Some bike lights can completely light up the road with many lumens, while others focus on increasing your visibility with different flashing patterns.
The risk of being hit by a bike is reduced many times over if you buy a set of approved bike lights that can protect you in the dark. In addition to powerful bike lights, we also sell reflectors that give you extra visibility. You can use extra reflectors on your bike to complement your new bike lights. It's also a good idea to wear glow-in-the-dark clothing or clothing with reflectors when you ride your bike in the dark. If you have children, it's extra important that you make sure they are well lit in traffic, especially after dark. Read our guide: 5 tips for driving your child to and from school in the dark
Many people forget to put lights on their bike if they're just going for a short ride in the evening or if they're riding as it's getting dark. As a car driver, the risk of overlooking a cyclist riding without lights is significantly higher than if they have remembered to put their lights on. If you get into an accident, it can be fatal. That's why you should always make sure to ride with bike lights when it starts to get dark. It's also a good idea to bring extra batteries in case you know your bike lights are about to run out of power. By remembering your bike lights and helmet, you significantly reduce the risk of serious injury! We always have plenty of lights in stock, with more than 40 different bike lights and reflectors from Cateye, Reelight, Smart, Sigma and many more. Find the bike lights that best suit your bike on the site. We always have a large selection of bike lights in different price ranges to suit everyone.
The most important thing is your safety. Most of our bike lights are approved according to Danish legislation and ensure safe driving on the bike paths. In our range, you'll find many statutory bike lights that are available at a great price. We'll tell you clearly if it's a non-approved light. We have many bike lights and light kits for all needs, whether you need a complete light kit or just a headlight or taillight. We have bike lights that light up the street, and we have more discreet bike lights that simply show fellow road users where you are. Whatever your needs, we have a light that fits.
Among our range you'll also find rechargeable lights, which are practical and a little more environmentally friendly as they can be used over and over again without the need to replace the batteries. This is a great choice for the environmentally conscious consumer.
We also have a wide selection of magnetic lights. All lights include batteries if they are required for operation. The magnetic lights are of course without batteries and run solely on your own propulsion. We have a wide range of inexpensive bike lights to keep you and your child safe in traffic.
We've created a special category for lights with extra power. Bike lights with extra power are especially useful if you're driving on roads that don't have lampposts or other lights. For example, on dark country roads. The lights are also particularly suitable for trips in the forest on your mountain bike. If you're looking for a really powerful bike light that can light up an entire forest path, you'll find it here too. With a powerful bike light, you're always guaranteed good light, even in the most demanding conditions, and you can feel confident that you'll be seen by other road users and have a clear view of your path ahead, no matter how dark it is. Our range includes several different models, all delivering a strong and reliable beam, so you can find the light that best suits your needs and preferences.
It may make sense to supplement with a range of reflectors in the quest for more visibility. Visibility legislation also includes reflectors, which is why we sell reflectors for pedals, wheels and racks. We have reflectors for both front and rear and many can be combined with some great bike lights. You will also find a wide range of products for mounting bike lights so that they are not fixed, but instead use the QR effect.
Here it may be relevant to find lights that emit slightly more light, as there is no other lighting that can help you see where you are cycling. Typically, 100-300 candela, 200+ lumens (preferably more, depending on your cycling speed) and 50-100 lux are recommended.
It all depends on personal preference in the area where you're cycling. If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to contact our customer service and together we can find the right lights for you.
Lux, lumens and candela are not vital tools in your search for good bike lights. You need to make sure the lights are required by law and otherwise go for the amount of light you like best. In most cases, you will be able to make do with 20-100 candela, 10-100 lumens or 10-15 lux.
For road cyclists on racing bikes, it is more relevant to use lux as a unit of measurement when looking for bike lights. As a cyclist, you often need to look further ahead and keep an eye on the road ahead at high speeds. This means that the lux unit is perfect for them, as it describes how powerful a beam the bike light has the ability to send out.
There is no maximum power rating for a bike light. If it's very bright, point it down towards the ground so it doesn't dazzle other road users. See how much light your lights should shine at least in our guide to bike lights.
In well-lit areas between 10-200 lumens. Outside of well-lit areas 400+ lumens. MTB trails or in the forest minimum 1,000 lumens.NOTE: Your lights should be visible from at least 300 meters away.
Your bike lights should be visible from at least 300 meters away. How powerful they need to be depends on whether you're riding in the forest, city or countryside. Learn more about which bike lights to choose here.
It depends on what you need them for. If you're cycling in urban areas where there's plenty of light, 10-200 lumens is okay. In poorly lit areas or in the countryside, you need 400+ lumens. In pitch darkness, go for 1000+ lumens.
