Since its inception, Cateye has been a leading player in the production of bicycle lights, reflectors and cycle computers for cyclists.
Cateye started its adventure in 1954 in the factory town of Osaka, Japan. Cateye has strived to be a pioneer and market leader, which it has been from the very beginning. In fact, Cateye was the first company to produce the flashing bike light and the well-known headlamp using LED. They later expanded their range to focus on cycle computers, releasing the first model in 1981. The cycle computers are a great example of the confidence Cateye has in technology and its possibilities.
Today, the headquarters are still in Osaka, but they have expanded with two additional factories in both China and Japan. The focus is on combining safety, technology and quality in the bicycle industry. Cateye currently employs around 200 people and manages to significantly improve productivity every year to continue to meet the industry's growing need for increased technological capabilities and lower prices.
