This extension link allows you to run with a higher gear ratio on your cassette. This way you can run with a 4 tooth larger cassette, so for example, if you have a rear derailleur with a short arm for 28 teeth, with this extension you can run with 32 teeth on the cassette instead. The extension is both Sram and Shimano compatible.
